Precedent & Historical Rationale

1. Integration and Legal Uniformity:

o Following the elevation of Arunachal Pradesh from a Union Territory to a full-fledged State under the State of Arunachal Pradesh Act, 1986, several pre-existing Central enactments either had not been extended to the State or required explicit statutory extension to ensure uniform application of national laws.

2. Removal of Legislative Gaps:

o To bridge regional legal discrepancies and bring the State's administrative and judicial framework on par with the rest of the country, various important central statutes needed to be formally extended to the territory of Arunachal Pradesh.

Parliamentary Trajectory & Enactment

• Presidential Assent: Received Presidential Assent on April 3, 1993.
